Plans are taking shape for the highly anticipated UFC White House event next summer, set to coincide with America’s 250th birthday celebration.
5,000-Seat Venue on the White House Lawn
President Donald Trump, a longtime UFC fan, personally asked UFC CEO Dana White to stage a marquee card on the White House lawn. White revealed new renderings during a Fox News interview, showing an outdoor Octagon framed by the White House and Washington Monument, with seating for nearly 5,000 fans.
“My vision is to have a massive arch with lighting, so when the fight circles, you’ll see both the White House and the Monument,” White explained.
The celebration will also extend beyond the White House grounds. A nearby park will host an 85,000-capacity viewing party with giant screens, live music, and picnic-style seating.
Potential McGregor–Chandler Main Event
Conor McGregor and Jon Jones have both expressed interest in fighting at the historic event. McGregor, speaking to Fox News, hinted at a possible clash with Michael Chandler:
“I am on it. Chandler and I have history from The Ultimate Fighter. He’s a tough guy. The Mac is excited to come back for sure.”
Chandler echoed the excitement, calling the White House setting “an experience we’ll never see again” and suggesting a July showdown could be the biggest fight in UFC history.
Weigh-Ins at the Lincoln Memorial
The spectacle will stretch across Washington, D.C., with weigh-ins scheduled for the Lincoln Memorial. Originally planned for July 4, the event was rescheduled to June due to logistical challenges.
White confirmed ongoing talks with McGregor, saying the Irishman is “motivated” to return after a string of setbacks. McGregor hasn’t fought since suffering a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. A planned 2024 comeback against Chandler fell through due to injury.
“We’ll build the greatest card of all time for the White House fight,” White promised. “And Conor wants this badly. Events like this are what drive him at this stage of his career.”
